Kearney's Q-125 Trolley

Trolley Schedule

A century ago, Kearney had one of the first electric trolley systems west of the Mississippi River. Today an urgent need for public transit makes it appropriate that trolleys once again serve us as we celebrate the history of our city. It's anticipated that two vehicles will initiate service in summer, 1998, and lead to growth of the system in future years. Purchase and operation of the vehicles will involve no tax funds as the routes serve our senior citizens, university students, other residents, and visitors to our community.
Essential locations for our everyday needs will be included in routing plans, and prominent features of the city will be highlighted for tourist access as well. The unique attractiveness of the trolleys can also serve special events in charter engagements for our residents and businesses. Rubber-tired trolleys are becoming very popular in many communities as they provide a very practical service with a special flair for drawing people together in an enjoyable way of getting around. They're a "natural" for Kearney as we cherish our past and look toward our future.
